New News

Hey Everybody,
We just wanted to update you guys on what’s been going on with us lately. First of all, to any of you who have seen us live, we have obviously experienced some changes as a band in the last year. Last winter, Jesse and his wife, Brooke, felt the Lord calling them to Detroit for some amazing ministry opportunities. Jesse was not excited about being less involved with the band but was very excited about where the Lord was leading them as a couple. We all prayed about it and felt that it was indeed where the Lord wanted them. So last march Jeremiah and his wife, Megan, and I all helped Jesse and Brooke move to Detroit. We were sure that it was where the Lord wanted them and equally sure that we were still supposed to make another record. A month later Jesse flew to meet us in Atlanta and we recorded “YET”. Last June we were blessed to begin having our friend Matt Doran play the drums for us. Matt used to be a member of The Heel the Serpent and was already a close friend of a lot of the guys in our community. Then after our summer release tours for “YET” Jeremiah also felt that the Lord had removed his grace to continue touring. He and Megan have felt called to move towards fostering children and other opportunities for some time but had just been waiting on the Lord’s timing. We had recently completed a tour with our good friends and label mates A Hope for Home. They had decided to focus on recording more and touring a little less. We prayed about it as a band and asked A Hope for Home’s guitarist Tanner Morita to start playing bass for us. Both Matt and Tanner’s entry into the band has been so smooth and truthfully this has been such an easy transition. Actually this is very old news as Matt, Tanner, and I have already done 4 tours together. Jesse and Jeremiah will always be a part of this band and honestly have had so much to do with keeping things together through the transitions. Don’t be surprised to see Jesse and Jeremiah around from time to time but we just wanted you guys to know that Matt and Tanner have been official members for some time now. I just wanted them to start getting the credit for the work they have already been doing as full members of My Epic. Special thanks also to the other guys in A Hope for Home for being willing to share Tanner with us. They will be putting out a new record this fall so please look for that.
Secondly, starting next week, we will begin to post an explanation for each song on YET. Many people often ask about some of the stories and meanings behind Yet and I wanted to put that out for those of you who are interested. So, beginning next week, we will start posting those one at a time.
Lastly, we will have a really big announcement next week…so please stay tuned.
